OSI Industries recently won the 2016 Globe of Honor from the British Safety Council for good management of environmental risks, at an awards luncheon in Draper’s Hall, London, November 25th, 2016. OSI Industries provides food for breakfast and lunches and dinners to foodservices and retail. Products include bacon, breakfast sausages, hot dogs and other specialty sausages. Baho Food gives OSI industries a better orientation in Europe. Baho has five subsidiaries (processing plants) in Germany and the Netherlands. These five companies are Gelderland Frischwaren, Vital Convenience, Henri van de Bilt, Bakx Foods and Q Smart Life. The managing director of Baho Food is John Balvers who is staying on board OSI Industries with his team, looking forward to helping his customers. OSI Industries has also bought the Tyson Foods plant in Chicago for $7.4 million dollars. All the Tyson employees were offered employment through OSI Industries after the sale.
Also, OSI Industries has recently acquired Flagship Food Group, Denver. Flagship Europe is a supplier of sous-vide products or products that are cooked in water. Pies, as well as mayonnaise, sauces, and dressings, are also produced, along with frozen chicken. OSI wants a broader presence in Europe that can confirm its status as a leading world provider of custom value-added food products. OSI has 65 facilities and 20,000 employed workers in 17 different countries that have a similar goal, which is to focus on making quality food products. OSI delivers custom food products to fit the business they are providing these products to. OSI offers custom food processing such as meats, vegetables, fruits, and other proteins.
OSI has a plant in Toledo, Spain, where they made improvements, which cost $17 million Euros. OSI Food Solutions, Spain wants the capacity to produce 45,000 tons of chicken, beef, and pork products on an annual basis. The local economy was boosted by adding 20 jobs, with the plant having 140 workers before the adding of a high-capacity producing line. The plant in Spain had 22,600 square feet of working space.
